NorthStar Academy provides Activity days, Learning Clusters, Workshops and Limitless Events for its families.
Activity Days are times we provide for families to gather with other families in a place away from their everyday setting! We deliver opportunities for students to bridge the gap between education and hands-on involvement! We encourage students to try new things, have authentic experiences and learn valuable life lessons outside of their typical learning environment. Activities may include venues such as the Telus World of Science, the Calgary Zoo, or a Corn Maze.
Learning Clusters are fun and educational times for NSA students to meet their classes’ outcomes. These are similar to Activity Days but usually occur once a week and run for three to eight weeks, depending on the event. Examples of Clusters we have run include Rock Climbing, Indigenous Studies, Gymnastics, Baking, Art and Music Classes.
Workshops are similar to the Learning Clusters but only run for one day. They may include things like First Aid, Hot Chocolate Charcuterie, Explosion Books or Craft Kit Days.
Limitless Youth Events are for High School Students. We hope that our students will build lifelong relationships and eventually enjoy graduating together at our Graduation Ceremonies. These events have included activities such as Combat Archery, Tubing at Canyon Ski Hill, Escape Rooms, Laser Tag, Volunteering at Samaritan's Purse and Axe Throwing.
