Community Connections

At NorthStar Academy, we believe learning happens best in community. Through our Community Connections program, we partner with students, families, teachers, and local communities to nurture relationships and create opportunities for faith-filled, shared learning.

Whether gathering in person or online, students are invited to connect, collaborate, and grow together in ways that reflect who they are and who God is calling them to be.

Community Connections reflects our belief that education is more than academics—it’s about belonging, purpose, and walking the journey together in Christ. To support this, we offer a variety of ways for students and families to engage:

NSA's Huddles Program

In-person, regional gatherings designed to connect students and families through hands-on learning, service, support, and discovery.

We run 8 Huddles per region each year across three geographical zones. Each Huddle is uniquely designed to foster connection and growth, and falls into one of four categories:

• Discovery Huddles:  Field trip-style experiences that explore places, ideas, and God's world. (Formerly called Activity Days)
• Learning Huddles:  Interactive academic workshops or multi-day learning clusters.
• Equip Huddles:  Parent-focused gatherings that build capacity and connection.
• Impact Huddles:  Opportunities to serve and live out our faith in local communities.

Celebration Events

Milestone moments and joyful gatherings that bring our school community together.

Throughout the year, we host both in-person and virtual celebration events designed to highlight student growth, strengthen school spirit, and encourage one another in faith and learning.

Teacher-Directed Assemblies & Homerooms

Virtual spaces designed to build connection, community, and care throughout the school year.

Our teacher-directed students also gather regularly in grade-level homerooms and school-wide assemblies. These online spaces help students stay connected and encouraged—even from a distance.
